Obituary for Ms. Christine Tum

Christine Tum, was born into this life February 7, 1934 in MT. Holly, Arkansas. She was the fourth of seven children born to the union of Thomas Phillips and Lillie Mae Lee-Phillips. Her parents, three brothers Milton (Bobbie Rene), Melvin (Earline) and Lee Phillips, sister Dorothy Page (Walter), grandson Juawan Lolar husband Lanice Tum, Jr. proceed her in transition. Christine was raised and educed in the MT. Holly community graduing from New Hope High School in May of 1953. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married Lanice Tum, Jr. April 14, 1954, to this union two children were born Denise and Rickie. Their union would span over fifty dediced years until the passing of her beloved Lanice in April of 2004. Christine was a member of MT. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful fifty year member, She loved to travel with her sister Dorothy and the Joliettte Travel Club. She received a recognition proclamion from then Mayor Funkhouser on Nional Volunteer Day for emuling the Spirit of Internional Volunteer Day, for being an outstanding example of volunteerisim throughout the city of Kansas City. She was known as Moma, Chris T, Sis, Grandma and Auntie. Christine enjoyed baking and cooking and she would say “th I am a pretty good cook”. She shall be missed dearly, she now wears a crown and is walking around heaven all day. Christine leaves to cherish with fond memories her children son Rickie Tum; daughter Denise Tum-Innis-Stephens; step-son Michael Banks; sisters Canary Price and Mary Ann Thomas (Floyd); three grandchildren Talib Cinque Innis, Rickie Ray Dale, Malena Lolar; goddaughter Lia Hter, a special friend Michael Colbert; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
