Obituary for Mr. Adrian Lee Payne Sr. (Goldie)

Adrian Lee Payne Sr. (Goldie) was born to the union of Mary Louise and Simon Alfred (Pico) Payne, on August 16, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas. Educed in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School System, he was a gradue of the Southeast High School Class of 1972. Furthering his educion, he enrolled in the Kansas City Vocional Technical Center, where he received Certificion, in the field of Auto Body Repair. In addition, he tended Penn Valley Community College where he studied Business.Adrian, ( birth) was a member of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, where his parents and Mernal Grandmother, Reverend Sarah J. Pton were established members. In his early years, he served as an Altar Boy and member of the Youth Choir. He was a Cub Scout and a member of the R.O.T.C. He was a member and French horn player for *The Five Wonders*, a Gospel Band, comprised of his brother, Anthony Payne, Otha Lee Austin, Teddy Grover and Ronnie Grover. An Exceptional Drummer, Adrian was a member of several musical groups including, The Voices of Exodus and Mass Transit. He played for and recorded with various artists across the United Stes. He also played the French Horn. He inherited many talents from his Parents. From his mother Mary, he received the talent of sewing. He would make many things, such as home d*cor. From his fher Simon, he received the talent of drawing. Adrian, a.k.a. Goldie, inherited his name in the le 70*s when he worked for Harold Pener Mens Wear. Pener, he was known for gold jewelry and fashion. He was known to have a ring on EVERY finger, gold jewelry on each wrist, gold glasses, and MULTIPLE gold chains. He worked for the City of Kansas City, Missouri Wer Services Department, where he developed his skills for heavy equipment operions. He then went to work for KCA where he retired with sixteen years of service.Adrian was preceded in transition by his loving parents, Reverend Mary Payne, and Simon (Pico) Payne, grandson, Christopher Standford and grandmother, Reverend Sarah J. Pton. On January 29, 2022, Adrian was ushered into God*s eternal presence, where he is safe in his arms. He leaves to cherish his memory and rejoice in his *homegoing* his three brothers Anthony Payne, Orlando Edwards, Wendall Johnson, one sister Sarah Payne-McLaughlin (Wesley) and his devoted children: Raven Stanford, Nicole Thompson, Demita Venson, Adrian Payne Jr, Mthew Payne, Tiara Black. twelve Grandchildren: Jamesha Price, Otha Fudge, Devin Trotter, Christopher Stanford, Ah*vhey Venson, Laiaunnie Venson, Nytara Payne, TaVona Gray, Taionna Gray, Talia Gray, TaVaughn Gray, Taevon Gray. Nine gre-grandchildren, other relives, friends, and long-time friend Lenora Winters.
