Obituary for Destiny Lynn Sherman

Destiny Lynn Sherman, age 15, of Kansas City, Missouri was born on October 22, 2009 to parents Nathaniel N. Sherman, Jr. and Jenny Carr. She passed away July 5, 2025. Destiny was a sophomore at Ruskin High School. She was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her, a beautiful soul whose smile could brighten even the darkest of rooms. Her laughter was infectious, sprit unshakeable and presence unforgettable. Destiny loved doing her hair and nails. She also loved spending time with her brother Nate, her Aunt Lovell, Great Aunt Rhonda Clark & Cousin Janice Clark. She loved animals, reading and playing volleyball. Some of her most cherished moments were spent in the garden with her beloved MawMaw, where she found peace and happiness in the simple joys of planting, picking and nurturing life. She treasured time with her family always eager to be surrounded by the ones she loved the most. Her friends, too, knew thee warmth of her loyalty, kindness and joy she brought just by being herself. Destiny, dreamed of becoming a Cosmetologist, a path that fit her perfectly. She had a natural eye for beauty and creativity. She often talked about opening her own salon., where she could make others feel as beautiful, as she always made them feel with encouraging words and a gentle heart. Though her time here was far too short, Destiny Lynn Sherman made an impact that shall last forever. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. In the blooming flowers she once helped plant, in every burst of laughter and sparkle of joy that reminds us of her. Destiny is proceeded in transition by her paternal great-grandfather William A. Clark, Sr. and great grandmothers Joan P. Clark and Lucille Syas; great-great grandmother Mildred Savage; great aunts Rae Lee Phillips, Aubry Ann Clark, Beverly Ann Bruce; great uncles William A. Clark Jr., Samuel G. Phillips, David J. Clark Sr.; maternal great-great grandparents Charlie Lee Webb and Rosie Webb. Destiny leaves to cherish with precious memories her father Nathaniel N. Sherman Jr.(Marlo); mother Jenny Carr; brothers Nathaniel N. Sherman III and Pierre McFadden; paternal grandparents Lyvette Clark McDonald(Juan) and Nathaniel Sherman(April); maternal grandmother Sylvia Carr; a host of other relatives and friends.
