Deacon Johnny McCurry

Deacon Johnny McCurry 64, Passed away KU Medical Center on July 24, 2015, was born October 27, 1950, in Benoit, Mississippi to Johnny McCurry and Kherine Warren. He was surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren as he took his last brehe. He was preceded in deh by his son Elijah, parents: Kherine and Willie B, sister: Benita and brother: Pleza. The life lived by Johnny was an inspirion to many. Johnny was born in Inverness, MS. On his first day in Kansas City, Johnny interviewed and received his first job! Johnny worked for Clay and Bailey Manufacturing Company for 44 years. Johnny didn’t believe in missing work. Out of 44 yrs, you can count his sick days and vacion days on one hand! For many years, he served as the Financial Secretary for Steelworkers Union Local 1971. Johnny accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour as a young man. He was a dediced Deacon the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ under the Pastore of Daniel Chavis Jr. He leaves a devoted wife of 48 years; KC Mother Love. In this holy mrimony, seven children were born: Wanda McCurry, Johnny McCurry, Regina McCurry-Hunt (Christopher), Rosa McCurry, MariAnn McCurry, and Alexandria McCurry all of Kansas City, MO. Sisters: Ruby (Mace) McBride of KCMO, Dorothy Williams of Memphis, TN. Brothers: Euall Warren (KCMO), Kenny (Abbie) Warren of Indianola, MS, Eddie Warren of Indianola, MS, Eugene (Shelia) Warren of Hazelhurst, MS, Sylvester (Chris) Warren of Dallas, TX, and Willie Warren Jr. of Dallas, TX. A special sister-in-law, Zylphra Ann White, of KCMO. Johnny had nine grand-children and five gre-grandchildren.
